KitchenAid Blenders

Are you looking for the blender which will last more than a number of weeks or months? Then you'll want to think in relation to its the KitchenAid blender.

I bought a 5 speed KitchenAid blender a decade ago, for $100 on one of the shopping network channels. At the time I was concerned about spending $100 with a blender - after all, you are able to have them at Kmart and Walmart and online for $30 all day long!

But with this case, you DO get what you pay for.

My KitchenAid may be going strong for 10 years with no sign of stopping.

Things I particularly like include the fact how the pitcher is glass, it's heavy and substantial and holds around anything. The pitcher jar unscrews in the base for straightforward cleaning, and it is easy to pop within the dishwasher. The base includes a strong.9 horsepower motor, and blends anything. Every morning I make my children fruit smoothies for breakfast with frozen strawberries, peaches or cherries, and some milk or yogurt in addition to protein powder. This blender is in a posture to handle anything I throw at it!

The top is two pieces, the rubber-ish (I don't actually determine what it's made of however it is like pliable rubber) stopper which has a center clear plastic cap that unscrews if you need to add something for the mixture inside.

There continues to be one issue that we take care of periodically - the blender coupling tends to use out after so much use. The piece I'm discussing is the little black spinner with fingers that twirls the blender prongs, located on the top from the motor, but away from pitcher. The very good news is the fact that these couplings are an easy task to buy and replace for about $5-$10.

I was obviously a little unhappy with having to change that coupling on my small KitchenAid blender, but my husband explained how the rubber coupling is a good thing. He told me when it turned out metal, it would constantly grind. He said metal-to-metal contact means constant wear. In this case, the rubber piece plays a part in quieter blender operation and prevents the motor from burning up if it had been prevented from turning by some hard substance (the rubber coupling gives first).

Okay, so in the past ten years I've replaced the coupling twice. Not bad for daily use for your past decade!

KitchenAid makes three forms of blenders: three speed, four speed and five speed. I'm pretty sure I may get along with only three speeds, but my blender has five options together with a "pulse" option that I like very much.

Yes, you might need to spend a lttle bit more to your KitchenAid blender, but don't you think better to purchase something once, and know you'll be able to count about it for years?
